by giving somebody to access your password recovery?
Hi All,

I would like to present some security issue in using Gmail.

When you initially created your gmail account, surely you've used your another email address

or requested to someone to create on behalf of you. Let says that email address originatedAddress

After creating your Gmail Account let says YourAccount, did you check your password recovery process is using that address originatedAddress as an alternate recovery process in case you've lost your Gmail Password.

Furthermore, if someone who currently using originatedAddress can request password recovery process for your account YourAccount even he/she don't know your Password. Then he gain access to your privacy. Viola !

So, if it is your case, you need to change that address.

Here is procedure. For ease ref, I used Big colored Arrow.

1) Open Gmail > click Settings


2) Setting page opened. Click Google Account Settings.


3) Google may ask again your password. If so, type and click Verify.


4) click Password Recovery Options


5) check address assign for Password recovery by email.
If this address is not yours currently. remove it totally. Then you should add your true alternate address if any.


6) Be sure to save after changing.
